Majlis Taklimat
(Briefing session with stall-holders for Juadah Ramadan)

A briefing session (Majlis Taklimat) was held on Sunday, 18 September 2005 at 5.00pm for the 16 stall holders of the Juadah Ramadan (Food Bazaar).

During the session, the stall holders were briefed on the rules and regulations as required by NEA. Not only the session provided an opportunity for the Committee to meet and get to know the stall holders, it also gave way for the stall holders themselves to know one another as they would be meeting each other for the whole month of October 2005 while tending to their own stalls.

The Committee hoped that the stall holders were able to work and assist each other and relive the Kampong spirit of “gotong-royong”.

Juadah Ramadan
(Ramadan Food Bazaar)

With the arrival of the Muslims fasting month of Ramadan, Pasir Ris East MAEC organised the “Juadah Ramadan” (Ramadan Food Bazaar) from 1 October 2005 to 31 October 2005 from 3.00pm to 7.30pm.

As there are few Halal stalls in Pasir Ris, this bazaar would provide a convenient place for the Muslim residents to get food for their breaking of fast. The bazaar would also provide opportunities for residents of other races to sample on the variety of Malay dishes. With this Ramadan bazaar, the Committee hoped to promote social cohesion and community bonding among the residents of Pasir Ris.

A crowd of 800 to 1000 people have visited the bazaar daily.
